Carolina Reptile Center

Jim built and donated a computer to the Carolina Reptile Center. He met with founder Jessica Hill to present the computer. Carolina Reptile Center is the only reptile rehab center in the Lake Norman area and has particular expertise in turtle rehab. Jessica brought an Eastern Box Turtle with her who is ready to be returned to the wild after healing from a dog bite. The Eastern Box Turtle is the state turtle of North Carolina and may soon be listed on the endangered list. The computer Jim donated will be used to keep statistics on all the animals the Center helps. It will be particularly useful if the Eastern Box Turtle is listed as endangered since the state will require specific information to be compiled and provided. Additionally, the Center plans to use the computer to train volunteers and for Zoom calls with organizations such as NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
